Default Paleo Physicians Network

I thought I'd share this, it's a web site where Paleo friendly doctors can register. Apparently other health professions can too. No doctors in my area, but an acupuncturist, fitness center and an RD.

Here's another, nice format but not as many people registered: http://primaldocs.com/

Nancy:

I am so glad I checked out this thread. There's a paleo nutritionalist in Edmonton who went to Robb Wolff's seminar. She's the person I need to see so I can get the people at work off my back. Never thought this would happen here in Edmonton.

Thank you so much.

Interesting. There is actually one doctor listed in my area, but he's not in private practice and doesn't take patients. His statement reads:

Quote:
I work in an Emergency Department, so don't have a medical office and am not available for appointments; however, I can help direct interested people to nutrition and fitness resources, and educate about things like lab results. And by joining the Physicians Network I want to express my alignment as a Physician with the paleo nutritional philosophy, and my rejection of the grain-based, fat-avoiding foot pyramid that's been taught to Physicians and the public for years.
But one wonders how one gets him to educate and direct people, if he has no office/practice. I like his statement about his alignment with the paleo philosophy though.

An update: I made an appointment to meet with this Registered Holistic Nutritionist and we spent the 1 hour free consultation gabbing and it ended up being about 2 hours. She told me that I had things figured out pretty much but sounded like I needed moral support. I'm going to see her twice a month. I'm very happy. She'll be looking at my menu and progress and will see if any tweaking is necessary.

Thanks so much, Nancy!

There's a clinic in my area, and I'm going to make an appointment with them today!

I looked up the two actual doctors (as opposed to the gaggle of NPs, DOs, and LaCs) in my area on the list:
  • one is barely out of residency
  • one has horrible reviews on Yelp! — he threatened to sue a patient who complained about poor service

I think I'll wait a bit before leaving Kaiser.
