Ok i try to explain it better. When we eat potatoes, our body needs to (destroy? decay? consume? Sorry i can't find correct word) make potatoes into simpler compounds and simpler and simpler and so on. To make simpler starch(potatoes), our body needs fat, if you won't provide fat in meal, it will use body fat.
Why on last meal? Because making starch simpler compounds is long time process and you have whole night for this. Also if you eat potatoes on first meal, after few hours you will eat something and you will stop this process. Also eating only carbs on first or second meal is just bad idea, you won't have energy. And eating carbs on last meal makes better sleep, and falling into sleep is easier.

I am going to try the potatoes as soon as I can buy some. Are there any that are better than others? Red, Russet, etc...?

Hi Miranto and All,

Thank you for the info. I also own the book by Dr. Kwasniewski.

Even though I was successful for the first month on this diet with time passing it has begun to be too difficult to follow for me. I tried to stick to proportion of 1:1,5:0.4 suggested in the book, which in my case translates to 60:90:36 (g). After the short time the allotment looked as not enough, I simply was hungry during a day and especially at evening. I started feeling guilty, because I violated the rules. Some signs of my struggle you will find posted in my diary. Recently I have been busy and disappointed with myself and stopped registering my p:f:c intake and regain back some weight.

Presently, I am vacationing in Warsaw and I am exposed to real Polish food, so maybe there is a chance for me to restart my efforts?

I wonder, if it would be possible for you to write to me in Polish directly at mbfwicz()gmail.com
I will appreciate your advice and maybe based on my personal experience I could pass some insight to English speaking friends.

I bought the book Optimal Nutrition on Amazon. It is full of recipes in the back of the book. I haven't made any of them yet; I eat pretty plain: eggs, bacon, butter, steak, potato, veggies. Makes it easy not to have to think.

I think, plain is the best.:-)
I was not successful in my resolve for dieting. Many things happened, which have made dieting impossible to me for over four months. Now, I am getting ready for SKD, Standard Ketogenic Diet.
Good luck to All.

Hi, can you still have no sugar ketchup and onions on his plan? Thanks, Pam

I eat those when I get a bunless burger and fries. I get grilled onions on the burger and put the low sugar ketchup on both (average of once a week). Neither one of those have nutritional value to eat but aren't disallowed.

I have been stalled, not only stalled but almost gaining all my weight back since quiting smoking. I never went off plan, in fact I went back to introduction. I tried fat fasts, zero carbs, different supplements, IF, more water and still gaining. I read this thread and tried it yesterday and I lost 3 lbs. This is the first time in 6 months the scale moved down. I had a potato fried in co for dinner, that was all I eat for dinner.
I'm going to stick with this and keep you posted on the results.

Thank you Diva, I found some of his recipes and I never heard of some his food, I think I'll try to just work with protein fat ratio and make some broth soup. Tonite I had a fatty pork steak with a heavy cream sauce and a baby red skin potato.

I keep it simple; coffee, bacon and eggs for breakfast, bulletproof coffee for lunch, ribeye and potato for dinner. I'll throw in some veggies at dinner also now and then. Cream in my AM coffee as well.
