Wink What did you Paleo's eat yesterday?

I'm curious as to what folk's menus look like on a daily basis. (This coming from trying to get some fresh ideas for my own menus).

If there's already another thread for this forgive me...I didn't see it in this section when I searched.

Thanks!

I'm only paleo-ish because I break up and reunite with cheese too often, but my food yesterday:

Breakfast: Leftover chicken heated up in coconut oil
Lunch: Same as breakfast (I had made a LOT of chicken the day before)
Dinner: Steak (grassfed) and avocado

Today
Breakfast: The last of the leftover chicken (it was GOOD chicken, but my kids discovered it as well)
Lunch: Almonds (waaaa, but we had no more chicken)
Dinner (making it now): taco-seasoned meat (homemade seasoning) topped with avocado and olives (are olives paleo?)

Yesterday was kind of a hectic day, so I mostly ate leftovers. I got out some frozen chicken. I had roasted the chicken (pastured, from the farmer's market) over a pan filled with chicken wings. It was really successful - the wings were delicious. So I had:

Chicken wings
Chicken drumstick

and then after putting the kids to bed...

Chicken salad:
chicken breast
parsley
mayonnaise made with:
egg yolks from our backyard chickens
Schmaltz (chicken fat) from stock that I made last fall
Salt
Lime juice
Pepper
Olive oil (the schmaltz tasted a bit old, so I stopped adding it and switched to olive oil)

Carpaccio:
Frozen eye roast, partly thawed and sliced thinly (raw)
Parsley
Tarama (carp roe)
salt & pepper
lime juice
same mayonnaise as above

And to drink:

seltzer water.
I have a seltzer siphon so I make it all the time.

While I was eating, I was also cooking up a fresh batch of chicken stock. I ran out of stock recently and it's been tough to make anything like I usually do.

I just made a post to my blog today with a ton of pictures of paleo meals: http://cavemanfood.blogspot.com/200...-meal-pics.html

Yesterday I had some distinctly non paleo mashed potatoes, so I'll talk about what I ate on Wednesday:
breakfast: 3 eggs
lunch: tuna salad (tuna, olive oil, vinegar, and some herbs on top of lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, and almonds) and a nectarine
dinner: coconut chicken fingers with spicy fruit chutney (blogged here: http://cavemanfood.blogspot.com/200...with-spicy.html) and some sauteed zucchini

To drink I usually have water, tea, or seltzer with a splash of cranberry juice. Sometimes in the morning I have really weak coffee with a little bit of stevia.

Yesterday wasn't a particularly 'good' day - but, here it is, since you asked:

Breakfast - two poached eggs, three slices Canadian (ie. back) bacon
Lunch - 1 cup leftover Bat Spit's recipe crockpot shredded chicken and fresh-made salsa
Dinner - baked cod filets with roasted broccoli and homemade LC 'tartar' sauce.

Probably isn't Paleo 'enough' but it's not bad.

I had some bacon, raw tuna w/ tamari soy sauce, and eggs with smoked salmon. Homemade beef jerky if I wanted something tasty to chew on.

Usually my diet is more beef heavy than fish but it varies. No fruit for me and very little veggies if any!

We are in the middle of a heat wave probably will last thru August...
So not much cookin going on here...

today breakfast:
Kiwi, apricot, organic strawberries, blueberries, half a banana, cherries

lunch: huge salad
red kale, cilantro, beautiful organic celery, shredded carrot, diced jicama, grape tomatoes, leftover baked wild salmon (from the freezer), bacon & homemade dressing.

Afternoon snack thru dinner: - (which will not be much because of the heat)
nuts
an apple
canadian bacon (from the freezer)
cherries or other fruit

If I am really hungry I might have an un-paleo 1 cup of pinto beans from the freezer for the potasium. But I do not think I am going to be hungry...

tomorrow the main meal is going to be a stir fry, kale, celery (got a bunch I need to use up), onion, garlic, shredded carrot, a little cabbage, & shrimp.
