Default Time to start again

Time to get more active in the forum, I've been lurking around for a while. I made an introduction a few weeks ago, then got off track. But I am proud to say I'm on day 7 of cutting the carbs.

History in a nutshell. This time last year I went to the doctor and he sent me for a bunch of blood work. I was 33, 5'11 and 355 pounds. After the results were in, we discovered my cholesterol was sky high, borderline diabetic, constant fatigue, slightly high blood pressure, and aches and pains due to the weight I assume.

The doctor spoke about the results, and said well we can put you on meds and started rattling off a bunch of different meds, or, we could change your diet.

I cringed, I was waiting for eat salads, cut out red meat etc.

The he said he wanted me to limit my carbs to 30 a day, add fat to my diet, eat steak, butter, eggs with the yolks and all the stuff I love. Basically if it grows above ground, roamed the earth, flew in the sky, or lived in the water I could eat it.

So I chose #2, I hate taking pills and probably would fill the prescriptions and take them for about a week, then forget about them.

So I started that day, and every 3 weeks I followed up with him. The weight was steadily coming off. At the 6 month mark, I lost 55 pounds and my blood pressure was greatly improved. Then, I just stopped.

Fast forward to last week, 6 months after my last check up and going back to the bad unhealthy way of eating I followed previously. I've gained 25 pounds, my blood pressure is back up, aches and pains, fatigue and sugar levels are back.

Today I'm down to 325, still not feeling like I was 6 months ago, but I'm on track.

Man that was a long way to say hi.
