Default Food allergies and stalls?

I was in a stall that lasted about 3 months, that finally seems to have broken in the past week or so. I was seeing no movement in the scale OR in how my clothes fit, until the past few days when I saw changes in both.

I reviewed my FitDay logs, and there really HAVEN'T been any changes in my total carbs, total calories, or protien/fat/carb ratios during this time period, nor in the last week when the stall finally broke.

The only obvious change is oats. I've been gluten-free for months, and then I wanted to test my body's reaction to GF oats. The stall started around Passover time, when I purchased GF oat matzah. But I attributed the stall to overall stress of Passover prep, changed eating habits for the week, and emotional eating following my cousin's death towards the end of the holiday.

Then, this summer, I found gluten-free oats and decided to use them for challah making- in the hope of avoiding having wheat crumbs all over the Shabbos table (Shabbos= Jewish Sabbath, every Friday night and Saturday, when we drink wine and eat bread as part of festive meals.) In the past 2 weeks, I began to suspect that the oats weren't agreeing with me, so I went back to baking rice challah for myself and purchasing wheat challah for the rest of the family. The stall broke about a week after I made this change.

So? Coincidence? Carb creep/innaccurate portion sizes entered into Fitday? Oats screwing up my weight loss?

There are a lot of celiacs that also respond to avenin in oats. So I guess I'm not surprised.

I wish my stall was due to a food allergy... So far throwing out a bunch of foods hasn't helped me. Other than to keep my carb count a little lower.

It doesn't look like the lack of oats is doing much for my weight anyway. I'm still hovering around 167/8 no matter what I do.

I react to grains across the board like alot of people, so maybe replacing oats with rice is better, but not as good as you need. Wondering if you could try making soy flour or some other kinds of bread instead and see what that does?

I can't eat any soy- I gained 10 lbs last year without changing my eating habits, and once I removed soy I broke a stall and lost the weight- the tip off was very very irregular bathroom issues- if I so much as touch soy I have diarrhea. It also explains why atkins products do not work for me.
