Red face just started and already cheating

I am back again..after some time of trying to gear up to lose weight I am 42 and weigh 199 and need to lose a bunch of weight..it seems like an impossible thing for me to do and when I think that I just don't try..but after seeing a picture of me in a dress at a friends wedding I have to do something. My only problem is that I love wine....I am also a single mother of a 4 year old boy and man can he push my buttons..I am teaming up with a friend at work and she has lost 5lbs this week and I ahve lost 2..I know it is because of the wine..so I am going to try really hard to not have my usual glass or two at night for two weeks...thanks for the support

Hi Buck,
I too weigh in at 198, and want to get to 150.
It will be easier for you at your still young age.
I am 56 next week and it gets harder to lose every month.

My father lost ALL of his extra 50 pounds back when he began a diet at age 50 (do it or stroke out). He continued to enjoy his booze throughout and still lost.
I saw that he had white wine, and he liked hard drinks (zero carbs).
Alcohol is a sugar, we know. But you CAN calculate it as part of your carbohydrate for the day. I was still enjoying a dry white wine last summer,
(but I have since gladly given it up all together) and it didn't mess me up.
My prob is pastries and icecream.
You can do this with 2 glasses of DRY, lower carb white wine.
Good luck!

PS, if you can stretch your energy limits after chasing your son, can you fit in some cardio during each day?
A good brisk walk?
Its the ONLY way I can even hope to lose, and my Dad did it 5 times a week.

Gosh, I hate to deliver bad news, but the alcohol really has to go if you want better weight loss. I resisted this fact for the longest time...thinking I was being so darn good in all other areas that I could get away with just a bit of wine, a low carb drink here and there. Nope, not so. I got stalled out and nothing moved again until I tightened up the eating, cut the carbs way down, and eliminated all alcohol. I sort of miss it now, but not too badly...I discovered it was more of a "habit" than anything else. I can live without it for awhile. So can you!

Maybe its a guy thing. I know another guy who lost all his weight, but he only drank hard booze.
Me? I have had ti shun the stuff to get anywhere.
I always stalled on wine.
But it seems men can loose even with booze.
