When one's qualifications is fathering 4 children ... I rest my case.
Obviously no understanding of evolutionary biology or psychology needed. Good to know where we stand.

We've deviated enough from the OP anyway.

Exactly.

Somehow discussions about evolutionary psychology always get misunderstood and messed up by people applying modern standards and modern memes/ideas.

If I were a HG woman, who would I rather pick ? I want my progeny to have good genes and a father who can "provide" well for them - fourth wife of the alpha male or first wife of someone who is neither strong enough nor prosperous enough ? The choice is simple.

As a well educated women having a good job living in 2010, my choices would obviously be based on different factors, but a lot of baggage from evolutionary thinking obviously exists - we cant undo millions of years of evolution with just a few decades (same concept as applied to paleo ).

Evolutionary psychology beautifully explains so many of our outdated concepts which exist even today - sexual jealousy, exaggerating the importance of so-called female "chastity" while not bothering so much about the male equivalent etc.
Unfortunately few people have read books about these. They prefer to armchair theorize instead.

Yes. Evolutionary explanations to current morality strips away a lot of the mysticism to why things are the way they are. This steps on a lot of religious and social toes as they are have their own interpretations of the world and why we act they way we do. This usually does not "gel" with the explanations given by biologists/anthropologists.

For me, it was liberating. I found it so fascinating to find out WHY someone (like me) would be scared of the dark. Actually made me less afraid of the dark.

To get back to the OP... I have to confess, my lasting reaction to this one is really mean, namely:

We're pissing people off! Hooray! It means we're making them think.
