Default Two Questions About Muscle Milk

This is my first post on this board so let me briefly introduce myself. I've been very successful with an eclectic low carb diet for about six years. I went from 195 to 165 and that's where I am now. But I'm always humble about maintenance, which leads to one of my questions.

Question # 1: What do you think of Muscle Milk as a between meals snack? I have no need to gain muscle weight or anything like that. I'm just getting tired of eating cans of sardines between meals. The protein to carb ratio looks great, and I'm wondering if it's that easy or if I should proceed cautiously. Or is there something else I should consider?

Question # 2: My 14 year old son is tall and thin and just made his HS football team. What about Muscle Milk for him? Any health concerns for a growing kid?

Please reference any threads about Muscle Milk, similar products, etc. or anything I might have missed.

And I'll check in to respond to follow-up questions.

Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help, but I've never heard of that product. Have you tried googling it?

I also have a son in high school, and it seems Muscle Milk is the new fad among these boys. I saw Costco carried it, but they only carried "Lite" Muscle Milk, and I didn't buy it. I noticed it was made with artificial sweeteners, and seems to be a ready-to-drink version of protein powder. Don't know too much about the original Muscle Milk, except that my son likes it, buys it occasionally on lunch break at a store near his school, and seems to really believe that it is going to make him much more buff than eating real food would--no matter what I have said! LOL

Your son's ability to get "buff,"/ increase muscle bulk is genetically determined, no matter how strong he gets through resistance training. Eating Muscle Milk or steaks every day won't change that. Have your son talk to a trainer for bodybuilders about this. That will be a credible source he'll listen to.
