Welcome Linda,
We'd be happy to help. What do you know about it so far? Are you working with a hospital based epilepsy center? Do you have Eric Kossoff's works? Matthew's Friends? The Charlie Foundation?

Do you want to work with a Keto/MAD dietitian? Tell us a bit more about what it is you need. Is it for you or a child?
John Hopkins has an Adult Epilepsy Diet Center, first in the country.

Thanks,

The big difference seems to be that compared to Atkins, the fat to protein ratio is more strictly controlled--just following by the book Atkins, a person might end up with the proper percent fat, but if they happen to really like tuna and skinless chicken breast, they might end up too low fat. So other than that precision, the diet really is pretty close to other low carb diets, you should be able to find lots of applicable ideas here, once you get started. Also, my understanding is that the ratio has to be right for every meal, not just averaged out for the day. (edited to add--I've been reading about a few of these diets for seizures lately, I had that bit about balancing every meal confused from another similar diet.)

It probably is a good idea to get some professional help getting started, there might be ins and outs of getting started for people with epilepsy that lay people on this board wouldn't be aware of.

Hope the diet helps you.

My guess is that if you're interested in the MAD, you've probably read this next, but here it is anyways just in case;

Dr Kossoff is continually testing adjustments to the MAD, especially for adults, to increase compliance while still being efficacious. He is a prolific researcher on the topic of diet and seizure control, has over a 150 papers on PubMed.

His lectures are very good. This one from last year's Metabolic Therapeutics conference on Dietary Therapy for Epilepsy using Ketogenic Diets. Mostly Children, but with info about his new Adult Center as well. https://youtu.be/1PqjdOz_lUw
He mentions early in this lecture that most every hospital now offers a center for dietary treatments using a Ketogenic diet. (Dr Westman noted that hospitals with such a center get a positive check used in the USNews rankings)
