Yes, and not just that. All of us got in this mess because we became to addicted to carbs. There is nothing wrong with starch, pasta, bread, etc of course. It becomes a problem when we can not keep away from them.

I have been about 113 lbs for over three years now and I eat plenty of carbs. I don't burn carbs, but burn fat. For months I thought after I lost the weight, will it come back? It did not happen because I did learned how to eat, emjoy my food, and not to regard food as "comfort" I regard food as fuel, nothing more.

I like being thin a heck of a lot more then being fat.

I found your story very inspiring because my starting weight was not very heavy, just uncomfortable for me. I would love to have the kind of success you've had!

hey, just wanted to say, I posted that back 2002. I been going strong since....my weight stays between 110 and 114 lbs. I didn't have this forum, because at the time I started in 1999, I did not have a computer, I did this on my own...I thought I was the only person on the planet on this diet! I found this by accident in 2002. Talk about changes in the Atkins diet! You have all these low carb foods available, which I did not have...low carb breads, cereal, etc. Not sire if I like this...I still feel calories are important. What made Atkins so successful was the fact that forbidden foods had so many calaories. The point being those foods should still be forbidden. Otherwise, I fear the Atkins diet could go the way of low fat diet. Well thats my two cents worth

Hi! Nice to hear from you again! You're not the only one who's suspicious of all the LC products: a lot of them are just an attempt to grab our attention and our money.

Congrats on your successful maintenance. Hope your hubby is doing well, too.

You guys are right!!! I laughed at the grocery store today when I was looking at all the expensive "low carb" labels. When I compared them to some of the other dressings and sauces that had been on the shelf all along I realized that often the cheaper "regular" ones had even less carbs!!!
I also find that I watch calories and carbs so I find eating clean foods is the best for me. I avoid the packaged low carb products.

On another note, my grandfather died from complications with diabetes and my mom was diagnosed 2 years ago. My mom's bloodtests are all regular now due to her controlling the diabetes with diet. I have been low carb for 5 years now and all this is just incentive for me to keep it up.
