Default New - first week down - life to go!

HI all! I am new to this, hubby and I started 02/07. I am so ready for this, and the first week has been AMAZING. Not hungry, no cravings, and I was so very surprised at an 8.4 loss my first week. I know that won't continue, but it sure helped this plus sized airplane seat squeezed woman feel good this morning. I have an extra challenge, I make and decorate wedding cakes as my business. (very fortunate that I am a busy lady) Looking forward to being a part of the forum and learning all I can for the new life ahead of us.

Hi and welcome.

Sounds like you're off to a great start. I feel your pain in the work department - I'm a baker for a donut chain. It helps that I also have to eat gluten-free. My reactions are bad enough that the bad stuff is 100% off my radar. I have nightmares about cheating. Maybe that's a trick you can adopt: go gluten-free at the same time. If you're on Atkins, you're 95% of the way there. You just have to read labels and make sure there's no wheat/barley ingredients in your meats, condiments, etc. Soy sauce is an example that usually contains wheat unless it's labeled gluten-free. Read Dr Davis' "Wheat Belly" if you're interested in more info on why wheat is bad for everybody.

Best of luck.

Thank you! I will look that up Kristine, that is a great idea about the GF way to go. So far so good this week, I have never experienced *dieting* like this before. I am so glad I have found this new way of eating.
