Hello all! Last September I was feeling overwhelmed by my diabetes and quite dejected at the prospect of adding another medication. After much research, I embarked on a ketogenic lifestyle. When I visited my doctor after 1 month, instead of adding a medication, I stopped my Victoza and lowered my thyroid medication - my only medication for diabetes at this time is metformin. My A1C was decreased and I'm excited to see how much further it has decreased when I see my doctor in a couple weeks. My energy is increased and my weight loss has been slow, but steady, just what I was aiming for. I am committed to maintaining this lifestyle for the rest of my life to keep my diabetes in check and am happy to have found this forum for support.
