Doesn't quite work that way. In some countries, labels include fibre as part of the total carb count, other countries pre-subtract them, in the example you give it's likely the true net carbs is 1.5 grams. I wouldn't worry about that, as long as you've gotten good results, which if your current stats are up to date, wow, you sure are.

I've been thinking about that carb count on that particular packet for months now hehe
I have cashews sometimes and they're labelled the same but a tad higher count, not negative.
I live in Australia labels have total carb count and I've been minusing the fibre - so when I saw the nuts woohoo so to speak lol
oh and thankyou teaser, I'm just over 9 months into this WOE and my stats are up to date
and thankyou thud too for your reply, I appreciate it

I just saw on Atkins website that they say Australians not to count fibre.
I count it on fitday. oh well lol
fitday is not australian, so when my veggies are put in there - the fibre counts right? grrr labels hehe
ok, thats my say now
and on the plus side 1.5g carb is low. Cashews are 6.5g carb
In New Zealand the carb count on our labels is already "net", i.e. sugars and starches only. Fibre is listed separately here, and even then it's not a requirement unless a particular health claim is being made on the product e.g. "a good source of fibre!" Pretty sure the same is true in Australia.
