Default Finally~A club I can join...

Let's see: Do I qualify for the turtle club?

Hired a trainer, worked out for 8 months only lost 7lbs....

Joined LAWL for a 52 week plan, lost nothing....

Did B12 shots lost some inches no weight....

Did a sleep study to see if I am sleeping at night...
Yep, had blood work done....Things are great except for some elevated cholestorol...

If the Atkins does not work for me by this time next year, I am doing LapBand!~ I am tired of this weight!

Shorty, a lot of people have succeeded on Atkins even after seemingly all else has failed. Give it your honest best, and you will see results.

Also, you may want to check out the success forum. It can be comforting to see people that have had similar experiences and have pulled through.

I would suggest starting a journal; it will allow you to track your progress and receive support.

Yes, today is the day I start...I precooked some turkey sausage last night to go with my egg omelet this morning...

The problem with myself is that I don't know really what to put together....I know protein, but is there some that is better than others??

What I do know:
Lean is always best...
Canola, coconut oil, olive oil, and cold pressed oils are the best...
Water! Water~ Water!
No sugar
No white foods
First two weeks no more than 20 net carbs...
Veggies especially leafy greens....
Either eat 3 meals to satifaction not stuffed OR 5 smaller meals per day..

I went and purchased the K-strips to test each day to see if I am in ketosis..

Lean is not always best on Atkins. Fat satiates. TBS, you can overdo the fat.

Also, the number of meals is up to you. Eat when you're hungry is better.

Dont get crazy about the shade on the keto strips. It took me forever to get it through my head, but as long as you are in ketosis, shade is irrelevant.

Also, after a few weeks I found that I could tell from the signs my body was giving me whether I was or was not in ketosis, and the strips didnt always concur.

When you say fat, what type(s) of fat are you referring to? This way I can know what to look for...thanks...

TBS? I don't know what this is....

The only real things I eat are the turkey sausage and turkey meat....The rest is normal.....

Butter, cream, beef fat, pork fat, chicken fat--as long as it's natural. Fat helps you feel full. It's also good for your body. They had a segment on the nightly news about people who couldn't conceive should add fat to their diet as the low fat regimen may be keeping them infertile. Of course they said that after you get pg you should go back to low fat. My take on it is that if low fat affects the ability to get pregnant what other negative effects does it have on the body?

Also watch the sodium in the sausage. If you have a problem that could keep you retaining water.

Oh, okay...Thanks for the info...I will incorporate these things into my diet...

The only thing I don't see is green beans on the list...Why are green beans not allowed?
