Default New Net Carb Counts for Atkins Products!

Atkins scientists have developed a new method of calculating net carbs - all the details are on atkins.com, including a chart of all the products and their changes.

A few are higher counts, a few are lower counts.

Now maybe I'll trust the labels more - it just seems so odd to me that I could eat a piece of candy having 22g carbs, net 3, and still have no problem with impacting my blood sugar. (Which is why I avoid the candy at all costs!)

That's really not true. I've lost the same when I count net carbs and when I count full carbs...fiber isn't digestable, its a scientific fact. There is no way it could actually influence your intake. If you're sensitive, count sugar alcohols, but you're better off just not being tooooooo crazy about counting everything (unless you're on induction), because it will make you nuts.

Everything in moderation: enjoy the atkins products...i know that i can't survive more than 2 weeks without an ice cream :-)

I stall out with just about any processed food.

I kept trying to force the ice cream into my diet as a "sanity keeper."

I lost three months of loss trying any and all methods to use these products.

YMMV, of course.

I don't know what to think when it comes to sugar alcohols. I really don't think that ALL of the sa carbs can be subtracted. Mainly, I just stay away from all products with sugar alcohols, period, so I avoid the issue all together Occasionally, when I'm craving chocolate, I'll pick up a Ross bar and just say 'what the heck' and don't count it at all, follow plan the rest of the day (staying at or below 20g ECC) and the sf chocolate is just extra. I really only have one or two around TOM, and even then not every month.

I always count sugar alcohols as regular carbs. Just in case.

I don't seem to lose as well counting net carbs but it is good to know you can do it.
