You all seem to have a problem with me for some reason. All I did was respond to someone's post about "this generation being the only people in civilization who have lived this long." I didn't realize I was starting a war and would be attacked by so many. I was here to talk about LC'ing, but apparently several of you didn't read the entire string and took my post out of context.

Whatever the case, I'll leave you guys to this thread and will go elsewhere. Sorry I offended so many people...that was not my intentions. Good luck to you all.

Morgan, your point about not treating you rudely would be easier to accept had you not inserted a wagging finger as you demanded, with your three question marks, that we consider Methusalah.

I think those hoping for tolerance should be the first to show it.

You know, I've received many honors in my life, but making the Church Lady's ignore list is one that I will cherish forever.

Well, isn't that special?

Talking Well isn't that special..

It just drives me crazy when people calling themselves Christians get all kneejerk huffy and defensive about their faiths and paints any one who disagrees with their particular interpretation with the heretic brush! Christ preached tolerance incase you forgot. If your faith (whether it is in religion, science or LCing) can't withstand some good natured ribbing or even some meanies (not that anyone was being mean) then you and your God have some serious talking to do. Can I be on the ignore list too? And yes, I consider my self a Christian and do my best to follow His teachings

Scriptures on that point are at odds - some say to flee from non-believers, others say to engage them in a friendly fashion. You can pretty much find support for whatever it is you'd like to do - which, in a supposed guide to moral living, does not inspire my confidence.

I think that the Bible is a bit like the US Constitution, Majestic Vagueness and all that. There are a couple of absolutes in both of them, but they are pretty much open to interpretation. Thats why I say, as long as you are not hurting anyone or bringing down society at large then follow your own path. Whether it leads you to Heaven or Hell is up to God and we will all find out when we get there

Actually, you can have Strawberries, Fresh Apricots, Blackberries and blueberries, Cantaloupe, cherries, cranberry, Honeydew melon, papaya, Pineapple, raspberries, strawberries and watermelon, just not during induction...

That's a pretty good variety for me!

As for vegetables, you can eat almost any except for potatoes, corn and leek which are quite high in carb...

Somebody didn't do their homework...

Guys, Methusela is a legend....two words, robert heinlein. Oh yah, and the bible. (apologizing in advance for any unintended insults to religious folk)

Scientific american and stephen j gould (I think)says prehist. man died mostly from impacted wisdom teeth. check it out. But yah, they died pretty young. Rough living in the wild, you know. No pedicures, no grocery delivery. ahh!

Atkins doesnt PROMOTE fruits, he says understand their impact on your sugar and insulin level. berries and melons are allowed after induction, slowly, and you gotta watch them. If youd read the book, youd understand that he would rather you ate fruits and nuts and veggies and meats than REFINED grains and sugars.

Not that Im listening...I actually bought 'no-sugar-added ice cream the other day'. AHH! But you wanna know what I crave? That damned coolwhip I bought for the kids. Does that make any sense?!?!?! What would prehistoric man think?

JC

So what? If we accept your mythology as factual history, then Methusala is by definition an historic figure, therefore not a prehistoric human. And even if there was a man named Methusala whose life spanned 900-odd years, that doesn't falsify GorbTech's claim that the average lifespan is longer now than it was then.

Have I qualified for your ignore list yet?
