Sorry, I didn't make that clear. Your are right, it is more "in your face" testimony. PCRM states they'll pass it onto the government, but I have a feeling they will be a bit selective.

Of course militant vegans and PETA (who are behind PMRC) are terrified of low carbs being proved out. Where would their political agenda go if it were shown that consuming animal products was the healthiest way to eat. This must give them nightmares. Nyah Levi

Question

Hi Nutri-Nut...

Just curious....I noticed in your profile that you state that you haven't read any books on the low carb nutritional approach.
How then can you have an informed opinion?

...answers await...

Since when is reading a requirement before you can spout off about a particular subject.

Everything he needs to know about lowcarbing can be gleaned from bits and pieces heard on TV, in magazines or from the guy behind the counter at GNC.

If it's in print it's got to be true no ?

Hi Angeline

Information can be gleaned in many ways. Bits and pieces don't usually offer the entire picture. A variety of books on the topics of interest could expand the horizons.

If it's in print, it needs to be questioned. That is how we become more informed....by lookin' for answers.

Sensitive battle, aye?

Historically, the media has portrayed low carb in a very inaccurate manner, so if someone is relying on what they heard or read through the media, they could very well be speaking from a great deal of misinformation.
Better to read one or several books written by the authors of the low carb plans before forming any opinion on what low carb is or is not about.

And here I thought I saw Angeline's tongue firmly planted in her cheek...

Of course, Lisa is absolutely right. Unless one reads from the source, they are probably dependent upon the misinformation spread by the media.

Being uniformed doesn't seem to stop folks from dissing the low carb WOL on this forum. I think sometimes they are just looking to get a rise out of someone. And most times, it seems, they do.

Just my opinion, humble tho it may be.

Guess I should have prefaced my post with a WARNING - POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS LEVEL OF IRONY AHEAD.

Oh well live and learn

Ok, Duh! I get it now. Instead of the above quote, one of those "wink" symbols would have been perfect.

Angeline, you can take the bag off your head now. We miss your pretty picture!
