Default Wii Fit Anyone???

I am thinking about getting a the Nintendo Wii and the some of the workout games, does anyone have The Wii and the Wii fit stuff? I really want to know what you think of yours. Has it worked? Is it fun? Hard? Easy? You know I want the scoop on this poop!

I have a wii fit. Our ten year old loves the games, for me it's not really a substitute for gym. Some of the games are fun, some of them are a reasonable workout, but I can't see myself playing it for an hour at a time at an intensity sufficient to get a proper workout.

On the other hand, it's great for accurately tracking your weight! (I use it for this)

I agree with Sinbad, the Wii fit and wii fit plus games are a lot of fun, but they aren't really rigorous and if you get wii fit rather than wii fit plus, you cannot set up a work out and must do each exercise separately. I get a lot more out of the Gold's Gym game and ironically enought, Soulcaliber which is an rpg where you use the wiimote as an actual sword. I'm gettin EA active next, but still prefer videos for an actual workout rather than active play.

The most heartpumping games in wii fit for me are the hulahoop game and the running games. The balance game do use your muscles though and if yhou aren't doing much exercise, you may have some aches like I did.

Default Wii Fit

I have it. the games are just fun games. I may use it when it is too cold or too wet to exercise outdoors.
HOWEVER - I encourage you to buy it just for the daily weigh in and graphs it provides. If you splurge and you see that weight increase on the line graph, boy it really makes you want to stay strict. I use the Wii fit often just for that aspect.

we have a graph too, in "MY P.L.A.N" on this very forum... I don't think I am going to go get a $200 graph when this one is free. Thanks for all of the tips people I think I will stick to other forms for my workouts.

I wouldn't recommend Wii Fit/Plus as a workout. I know it can be really helpful in correcting balance problems, but it is loads of money...

I would however recommend EA Sports Active for the Wii. It's a proper balanced workout that incorporates cardio and strength training. You may need to replace the somewhat weedy resistance band that comes with it with a stronger one (of same length!!) to get a better upper body workout.

I don't have any measurements to show off as I'm terrible at remembering to do them, but my arms and shoulders are more sculpted, I have more of a waist, my inner thighs are way less flabby and my calves look awesome. In 12 workouts. My aerobic fitness has doubled and I'm bursting with energy.

I would totally recommend it!!
