Welcome. You came to the right place. We are in the same shoes, dude -- with a long journey ahead of us. I'm just a few more months down the road. This way of eating really does work for people like us, and if you are persistent - you will discover that eating the right food will actually fix what is wrong and change your life for the better. I invite you to take a look at the first few pages of my journal. Perhaps information I how I got started can help you get rolling on this. Learn as much as you can -- and stick around. This place really helps me stay motivated.

You are 34 years young. I wish I'd figured things out when I was that age. I'd have saved myself 16 more years of grief.

Welcome! You are in the right place! This really works! I have lost quite a bit of weight (and gained it back a few times) doing LC. You will lose and keep it off if you stick to it and stay motivated... sounds like you have the motivation!

I loved your ahha moment! Mine was almost the opposite, it was when I realized people my weight and much smaller were haveing lots of health issues, I realized right then that I would not avoid the health complications forever and not to press my luck.

I also have never been a good sleeper but when I am LC I sleep like a baby... its amazing. I wonder if I may have had sleep apnea as well... but I am in the same boat, no health ins so I guess we'll never know lol

Welcome again!

Sounds like you're off to a fantastic start. That "wow" moment is a great one, and I'll be borrowing that quote.

Next time someone brings home olive garden, remember that once you go LC, NONE of that crap tastes the way it used to. Your taste buds realign to normal and you end up realizing that all of that stuff is just starch bathed in sugar and doesn't taste a thing like real food.
