Thumbs up South Beach Diet Challenge - Wk Of 4/28/03

Hi everyone - Week 2 of the SBD for me anyway (and this thread). Only lost 1 lb but that's ok. Still learning the ins-and-outs of this WOE.

My goal this week is to stay below 1500 calories, fat under 60% and carbs around 20. I am also going to exercise a bit more. My biggest problem now (and going forward) will be the weekends and staying on plan (i.e. socializing). Last year I had a full social life on the weekends and thus lost only 5 lbs the entire months of May, June and July.

Anyway, my menu for today is this:

BF: Salad - romaine lettuce, cheese, turkey, hidden valley ranch dressing; 12 oz cup coffee with light cream & little splenda

LU: 1 EAS shake

SN: 1 oz Walnuts

DI: 5 oz chicken breast cutlet (or 2 = 5 oz); breaded in soy flour and fried in olive oil.; 1 cup green beans or cauliflower/broccoli mix w/ICBINB light

SN: SF Gelatin w/light cool whip (2 tbls)

Water - 80 oz by bedtime.

Worked out at CURVES this morning - planning on 4 x this week.

Hi Yvonne,
I started The South Beach Diet 5 days ago and have lost 5 pounds I have just been following the eating plan in the book. There are a couple of lists one on Yahoo that is great. I have really been suprised by the wonderful way I feel. I'm sorry you haven't lost more but one of the gals on the Yahoo list didn't lose anything on the scale...so she had her body fat measured and it showed she had lost 3 pounds of fat but had gained muscle. They measure bodyfat at my Curves maybe it's worth a try.
