Lightbulb new enthusiasm, just a thought...

I have been squeaking by the last few days wondering if this plan is right for me.

Then I made a trip to the grocery store and found a renewed sense of resolve and enthusiasm.....I guess I was like old mother hubbard and my cupboards were bare...with nothing to choose from I felt a little deprived and not happy about the whole WOE thing...

But now I am restocked and feeling better about it. When I get hungry there are choices all around me now.

Just sharing in case anyone else needed to have an "aha" moment. Before you give up head to the grocery store.

Melanie

Thats a great AHA! Good for you.
That's why I liked to carry the food lists with me when I started out....they gave me a sense of peace as I could always look at the lists to find something that I could eat.

I have to admit that I spend more money on food than I do anything else. Quality in = quality out! You are definitely worth it!

The first time I did SBD (rather successfully actually), I stuck to easy foods that I made over and over. After awhile I got bored, and it seemed to be the downfall for me. So you've got the right attitude... lots of options!

I'm on day 4, and I've made sure to eat different things every day for dinner to make life more interesting.

Thanks for the reminder on looking at things from a different perspective! Good for you

Awesome, Buckey Mom! I know when I first started the diet, I was certain I'd feel deprived. Once I got past a certain point, I discovered I didn't miss certain foods anymore. I am very careful about sticking to the outside perimeter of the store where the fresh foods tend to be, only venturing down aisles when I am on a specific quest. I have to admit I'm spending more money on food as well, but I know I'm eating better, and the rewards are worth it.
