Default Hello All, Oldtimer here coming back

Well, Judy surely remembers me and Skalar and joesfolk should be, too
I did very good the first time around on South Beach and was actually down to 157lbs the day before I had to undergo my Hysterectomy. That was back in 2004 so 6 years ago. A lot of thinsg changed and Life happened and eventually we moved from Colorado to Texas. Now here finally settled back in somewhat DH got deployed to Kabul and I finally want to get back into it. Giving in to temptation of Brisket and Chicken Fried Steak had balloned me back up to over 200lbs, which is NOW my heaviest ever. I am herby committing myself back to the Lifestyle change and I think this time I will actually have the Support System at home, too. Kids and Hubby when he will be returning in August.
so here I go, let's do this.

Susanne

Thanks for the warm Welcome back!
I am starting out tomorrow with day 1 Phase 1. I had to go Grocery Shopping first. Looked over the allowed foods lists and they did change a bit from the last time I did South Beach, so I made propper adjustments.
I am walking every day for 1.5 miles so far and want to eventually work myself back up to 3 miles a day 5 times a week. Starting out slow here with the knees not being what they used to be, but I want to be able to run next to my son atound his Highschool track and actually keep up with him (he is a football player and Track runner). Now this will not happen over night, this is my LONG term goal. Short term goal is to get under the 200lbs mark again by the time Hubby comes back from Afghanistan in August.

If you get under 200 and are able to run as fast as your son (I assume he's a teenager) how will your hubby every catch you?

Yes, he is a Teenager, and Hubby is a runner, so he will be able to keep up

Welcome back.....I've been MIA also.

Just keep at the walking and you'll be running with your son before you know it.
