Welcome! I am glad you found us! Atkins is the best plan for some, not so for others. For me it is the best, because I have a hard time eating things in moderation. For me the stricter the better. There is a quick link on the right hand side of this page that is "Which low-carb plan is right for me?" Hopefully that can help answer your questions about the other plans.

Default I should have . . .

said more about the food journal. It's a great place to keep track and it's a great place to make friends too. If you want you can click on mine and see what it's all about. Just click on the thing on the bottom of my post that says journal. Also, www.myfitday.com is so great! It lets you list all of your foods for the day and analyzes them for you so you know how you are doing nutrition wise, etc. Madi

Welcome to this forum.

I agree with Madi that starting a personal journal and going to Fitday to start a food journal are the first priorities in starting this diet. Also you should tape measure yourself so that when you don't seem to be losing pounds you will most probably see inches coming off which is more exciting in my estimation. There is so much information on this forum and everyone is more than eager to reply to any questions you have so ask away and AGAIN WELCOME
