Mainstream media is loving this study🙂
New study: The keto diet burns TEN TIMES more fat than a standard diet, even without exercise

Daily Mail
Quote:
Is this why Kim Kardashian and Rihanna are fans? Keto diet burns TEN TIMES more fat than a standard diet – even without exercise, finds study
Controversial low-carb eating plan is high in fat and advocates moderate protein
Researchers studied people who have or are at risk of type 2 diabetes
The keto group saw significantly better results even without physical activity
They were compared to those on a standard diet – with and without exercise
They had lower weight, body fat percentage and body mass index (BMI)
Also had lower blood sugar levels and more ketones which break down fat

Woman's Health: The Ketogenic Diet Might Burn 10 Times More Fat Than The Standard American Diet. Pretty impressive.
Then there is a video of someone trying the diet that is completely ridiculous ... she whined about how hard it was going to be before starting..so it was. Loses nine pounds in two weeks and still complains.

Ugh, but they repeat the typo about "ten times the resting metabolic rate." Keto would be killing people if it did this, even if I could tolerate the heat, I would have wasted away by now. It's entirely different from burning ten times as much fat.

We are not living in Haley Potter magic world, the law of energy conservation is still valid.

Next comes the interesting question, if we overeat in keto diet, where is the energy go?

If my memory serves me right, about one third overflow keto will be flushed out either through kidney and/or lung and/or even skin.

The question is why keto diet/low carb diet does not make glycogen and/or fat? I guess, that is the beauty of keto diet/low carb diet. Especially, recent research showed our diet does not hurt kidney which was anti-keto camp's major weapon.

Unless somehow overeaten keto diet forces some gene turning on/off, we have no knowledge of anything new yet(the more we know, the less we know.)

I do know when I eat a lot of meat, I can smell ketone(or whateve you want to call it) standing inside the bathroom.
