Question What is soluable fiber ? Dietary fiber?

I know we can subtract fiber from carbs to get net carbs, but what exactly is soluable fiber and does it count when I am counting how much fiber I am getting a day?

I am making sure i am getting 20-30 grams of fiber a day, but does the soluable fiber count the same as dietary fiber?

No, fibre or fiber is the indigestible part of a food. Whether it dissolves in water/juices or not, it is subtractable from the total carb count because the body cannot process or absorb it. The resulting number is the Effective Carb Count or Net Carb Count = what you should count as carbs.

All fibre, soluble and insoluble, gets subtracted, as the body does not absorb the calories from them.
