Since I am apart of this and a PCOS group I figured I should post this here as well.. I am involved in a Campaign to bring more awareness to PCOS. It includesa media campaign, and we also have 3 books, a cd, 2 benefits and a PSA all in the making as well as trying to fundraise for it all.. this is something that is very important to me, as I was misdiagnosed for along time before I was diagnosed with PCOS... I am in charge of one of the Benefits that is being held in Green Bay WI on Aug 5th from 7pm-Midnight... I am hoping that get lots of volunteers or lots of people to come and check it out. We are having a dance and silent auction... I hope that any body on here that is in the area comes and checks it out!!!! Because this will help so many women with PCOS... 1 in every 10 women have PCOS and 1/2 those women dont know what PCOS is or that it exist.. I feel as someone wiht PCOS its my duty to put the word out there and help in whatever way I can. From Doctors to Nurses to laymen this is something that is to often ignored!

Thank you so much for initiating this. we need one in every town and hamlet. sometimes i wish i could shout it from the rooftops. i'm not from your area, but trust me, i feel just as passionately about awareness as you do. sometimes i wish i could plaster all the beautician shops, weight loss centres and other places where cysters show up because of our disease and tell them what was wrong...that it wasn't thier fault they were fat and that they were not 'mutants' because they had facial hair. when i think of how many women hate themselves like i do/did, it really makes me cry.

For me its so totally important to get the word out.
We actually changed the date for the benefit to the 9th of Sept to give people more time and get prepared and such. We are also working on a benefit in NY this is slotted for sometime in late october/early november. its so great we have so many people (girls and guys both) helping us out from so many places! we hope this helps! but we still can use all the help we can get! The more the merrier!
