Default Halfway there for two years now and ready to move on...

Hi! I'm an ex-vegetarian who lost 50 lbs on a haphazard "just cut out sugar and starchy foods" low carb plan a few years ago and kept it off by staying moderately low-carb ever since. At first I was delighted with the fact that, at this weight, I fit into a straight size 14 and no longer have "rolls", but that's not enough for me anymore (especially when I'm supposed to be a bridesmaid along with some very skinny girls this fall)! I'm ready to get serious and lose 50lbs more. I've (finally) read Atkins, and I've cut out beans and yogurt and started counting carbs. This time there was no dramatic weight loss, but then, there was no dramatic change in my diet either. At any rate, the scale is moving again, and in the right direction! I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Welcome! I'm sort of in the same boat. I didn't really follow a specific plan to lose the first bit of my weight and have maintained by keeping my carbs down. But, I'm SOOO ready to start seeing the scales move again! I've been at this weight (or thereabouts) for a couple of years too and really to fit into a new size! We can do this!!

Welcome! Another ex-vegetarian who gained 60 pounds on that diet...so happy to find low carb. Glad the scale is moving for you and that you read the Art&Science of Low Carb. Good diet plan right there..Dr. Phinney stays under 50g carb, or you may consider even lower levels to nudge that scale along.
All the best,
