Default Emotions and eating

I have been low carbing for 4 months. Doing really well. Then today I had an emotional low and all I could think about was food. I did not give in. But it was a battle all day. Maybe a good nights rest and tomorrow will be better

A good nights rest is good medicine. I also have a suggestion that was taught to me and I'm working on. If you still read this before you go to bed: The FIRST thing you do tomorrow when you wake up will be to SMILE. It doesn't' have to be a big cheesy grin, it can if you want to, just smile and sit or lay quietly for 30 seconds or so. A good way to start the day

Good for you for not giving in! I'm a huge emotional eater, and I've managed to get away from that...finally. Each time you resist giving in, it's empowering and makes it a bit easier to resist the next time. One thing I've realized recently....the emotional eating thing was a habit more than anything, and time has lessened the power of that old habit. I'm pretty amazed at that, actually, because junk food had been my "go to" to deal with emotional stuff for absolutely eons.

Yay!

As a recovered emotional eater myself, what helped was thinking about a bigger time frame: how will I feel after I eat this? And down the road?
