Default Pork Rinds in the UK

Hiya

There are a lot of LC recipes that use pork rinds in place of breadcrumbs. The US 'pork rinds' are like quavers, light and airy. Whereas all I can get in UK supermarkets are pork scratchings, which are just not the same. (Unless your recipes calls for warts and hair!!).

Does anyone know where I can get hold of US style pork rinds? In the UK the name for this style of scratching is Pork crunch.

I know you can buy them from pub snack suppliers, but that's not ideal since I'm not in the pub business!!

You can get the pork crunch from www.lowcarbmegastore.com. You could grind them to get the same effect as breadcrumbs.

I've been to Bedale several times when I was young, I remember having the BEST ewesmilk icecream at at farm there (that had a petting zoo).

I have lived in Leeds for 8 years, I went to uni here and stayed. I'm from good Yorkshire stock though

Lol, yes one of my girls mates used to work there, it is still open too. Been in Norfolk for just over 2 years and miss 'up north' so much. My family are all still up there though and get home maybe a couple of times a year.

Found them today in Morrisons, they're called Pork Crunch. 55p for a 35g bag. Carbs Nil. Tasty alternative to crisps. Less than half a bag is enough for me. Thanks for the tip Toonangel

What is on the ingredients list, folks?
We don't have a Morrisons nearby but do sometimes drive past one on our trips out.
The ones I buy locally (Green Top Crackles) do have a smidgen of rusk in them as they have 0.1 carbs per 100 grams but if I could find some with nothing except pork rinds and salt in them I would make the effort!
