Default Time of day to weigh

This may sound like a dumb question, but when is the proper time of day to check your weight?

When I first wake up in the morning, I am at my lightest. But, then, in the evening after dinner, I weigh 2-3 pounds more!

So I can just always weigh in the morning for encouragement, but am I kidding myself?

I weigh first thing in the morning. I get up, go straight to relieve my bladder and then to the scales! I normally always weigh about 3-4 pounds less than I do in the evenings. It's because overnight your body has not had anything going into it and whatever else goes on! During the day you're eating and drinking, etc so you weigh more. I know a lot don't agree but I weigh myself every morning! I have to! This way I know if I'm going up or down. It keeps me sane! It's a ritual!
Good Luck!

you will probably fluctuate more often in the evenings depending on what you have eaten throughout the day. i always weigh in the mornings, first thing after i empty the bladder. i figure consistancy is better anyway.

The most important thing about weighing is to weigh at the same time of day, with the same amount of clothes, and on the same scale. That being said, first thing in the morning, with an empty bladder and with no clothes on will be the most consistant.

The proper time to weight yourself is the morning, after your BM and before breakfast. Consistently.

Hmmm...I've been doing it the evening, to be better hydrated. I have a scale that measures body fat, and the instructions say to make sure you're well-hydrated to get an accurate BF reading. Out of curiousity, I've weighed in the morning, and although my weight's lower, my BF reads higher.

Our weight is a function of the exertion of the earth's gravity on our bodies. It's a scientific fact that even in the exact same location, gravity is not a constant. I don't really think there is such a thing as a "right" time to weigh, just a consistent time and place. It's the best we can do.

Default Yep, in the morning!

I weigh in the morning, naked, dry and after I have used the potty. This is the best way to get the most consistant measurement. The fact that it is also likely to be your very lowest weight of the day is just a happy aside!
