Default Charles Clark Questions

Hey guys!
I'm new here and I've just started the Charles Clark diet and I had a few questions I was hoping you could help me with!

Firstly, I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian who lives in the UK, and the Charles Clark reccomends 5 eggs a week, would it be okay to go over this amount as they have no carbs? I never usually eat eggs, however as they are a no carb food source, it seems like a very good option to base meals around.

Secondly, I've started the induction phases (No Caffeine), and I lost 2 pounds the first two days, and then put on 4, which have stayed put over the course of the week, could this be because of Aspartame in the flavoured low carb waters I've been drinking, and the SevenUp Free?

And do you have any advice which could help?
Thank you for your help!

Edit!: Also, Is sugarfree chewing gum allowed, or is it best avoided?

& Do you have to monitor only your carbs, or should you keep to a calorie/fat plan too?
Thanks again.

I don't think it is a very wellknown diet as not many members seem to follow it on this forum.

Though there is a thread in the General Low carb forum at present from someone starting it.

The one thing you mentioned which I can comment on is that eggs are not really "no carb" as a medium egg (same size as what in USA is called 'large) has 0.36 carbs according to the USDA website.

But I cannot see why you should not eat more than 5 a week as it has good nutrition in it and is a good highfat lowcarb food in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice!
I've been on this diet three weeks already, and I've lost practically nothing.
I eat the right amounts nothing over 30 - 40g of carb a day and the scales just won't go down.
I'm trying the egg diet as of today, which will hopefully kickstart my body into trying to lose some weight, and then back onto the Clark.
