Default Hi from NZ

Hi everyone

I'm very pleased to be a new member. I am new to the low-carb game and this site looks like it will it will play a vital part in my losing weight successfully. A place for support, recipes will be great.

As all the diet books and recipes are primarily American it will be really good to be able to chat to experienced dieters and other kiwis and get help with substitutions for american recipes that call for products we cant get here. I think that will be a major factor in keeping me motivated and not getting bored cos I cant cook any of the yummy recipes I see on your site.

I started watching my carb intake after Christmas but not by following a proper diet. There were definate results (now slowing down) but food was very boring and not too healthy cos I just ate the obvious proteins and elimated the obvious carbs. I have just got the South Beach Diet book and am looking forward to trying out some of the recipes - some even let you use a touch of alcohol - yayyy.

One problem I have is that the induction phase calls for "spaghetti squash". Can anyone tell me what this is - would we call it something else in NZ? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Willo
