Default Fasting->Cortisol->Adrenal Fatigue-

I believe I have some adrenal fatigue. Low cortisol from a lot of stress and pain from injuries. I have been taking supplements and resting a lot and my temperature is increasing and becoming more stable, still have some low days.

I read that low calorie diets can stress the adrenals, and lower cortisol. I've been going for 50 carbs/day and eating thru the day to help my adrenals. I'm not sure if lowcarb is relevant in to the adrenals.

I'm wondering if IFing would raise cortisol in someone like me, or does adrenal fatigue mean that the adrenals aren't able to raise cortisol?

Hi Nawchem; I share this article and it also has some comments below it. Have you been saliva-tested for your cortisol levels?

GR I've never heard about that before. Is that a good thing to do?

Thanks for the link GR. It was very interesting although no definitive answer.

I am in a pretty poor healthcare position with my insurance at the moment. They only do a 1 time blood test of ACTH, no saliva testing. My insurance doesn't even cover armour but my dr went out on the limb and is letting me try it at my own expense. I have had very high reverse T3 but they don't do that test at my clinic either.

I have been taking my temps about 6 months and following Dr. Rinds temp graphs. My temps are rarely above 97.9 but occasionally are up to 99.0 degrees which makes me think I don't need more thyroid medication. Since my temps are slowly becoming more regular and I'm feeling better I'm just taking a shot in the dark that my problem is adrenal.

thanks MickiSue I will pm her!
