Default Got my blood test results...

Hello,

I usualy never start a new thread but I'm happy to say that my cholesterol numbers have improved!

My Trigelycerides are down a lot (by half)
My HDL is up a little and,
My LDL is down a little bit (close to where it was, but not higher!)

It's again a nice proof that fat isn't the problem and that sugar is bad!! I still have to take my lipitors, but I think, with exercise, I eventually will be able to lose the medication

I had a hard week last week and fell off the wagon. Took back a few pounds but I'm back on track! And with these results, it helps a lot to stay motivated.

See ya!

Default hi

HI Thailie! Good job with the blood work! Glad to see you got back on after falling off a little bit. I'm new, started yesterday on the forum and low carb. I noticed we are both in Richardson and the same age. You wouldn't happen to be a Dallas Stars fan would you?? Well again good job. If you have any tips you can give me they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MaddieB1

Hi Saski,

My doctor congratulated me a lot on my weight loss and he was also very happy with the results. But, I must say he was already a beleiver. He talked to me about Sugar Busters 2 years ago. But it wasn't coming from me and I wasn't ready so it didn't work. Now, with Atkins, I'm doing good. I had nothing to do to convinced him on the goods of low carbing

Hi maddieb1,

I think we posted our messages at the same time

Good luck to you on this new Way of Eating!! I wish you the best. My best advice would be what everybody is saying. Drink lots of water, move a lot and stick to it! It works!!

No, unfortunatly, I'm not a Dallas Stars fan. I'm not into watching sports! Wich part of Richardson do you leave in? Me? I'm very close to Breckinridge Park.

See ya!

Hi Thalie, I'm not sure where Breckenridge is, I live at 75 and Renner Rd. I'm not really into sports either but I do love hockey.
How long have you been doing Atkins? MaddieB1

Thalie - I have a friend in Richardson who is looking for a pro-low carb Dr. I would LOVE to find out your dr's name. If you don't want to post it here, please PM me. Thanks!

MaddieB1 - YEA STARS!!!!!!!

I'm in Grapevine, but I frequently drive out to Richardson to walk with my friend. Maybe we could all get together for a walk! We're very slow walkers though.

Default Hi Saski

I don't know if you were talking to me or just Thalie, but I would love to go walk with ya'll. I don't have anyone to exercise with. I go to the gym at our apartment in the evenings after the kids are in bed and there is usually no one in there it's great. I haven't figured out how to private message. Did you catch the playoff game last night? We kicked their butts! MaddieB1

I was including you MaddieB1! Are either you or Thalie free during the weekdays? It's ok if not, we could always do it on a weekend too.

That was a terrific play-off game last night! I think I burned calories just cheering!

Hi Maddieb1,

Breckinridge park is on Renner, but far east. Past the Bush freeway

I've been doing Atkins since November 11th 2002.

As for walking, it might be a good idea! Let me know when you're doing it!

See ya!

Hello,

So encouraged and happy for you about your results.

My dr. also approved. I think more and more drs. are coming around to the idea of LC.

This is day #12 on Induction. Had intense sugar craving last night, got through it. OK tonight, thank God.

MaddieB1...Are you still out there?

Thalie and I have arranged a time and place to walk. I don't want to post the particulars on an open forum. As soon as you have garnered enough posts for private messages, we'd love to include you.

If you have already gone how did it go? I have lost 5 lbs on induction so far! Yea! Saski, did you see the game Sat night? GO STARS!!!!!!! I know what you mean about cheering, I usually have a sore throat by the last part of the game! This is my 6th day on Induction and I'm doing O.k. going to go try and find a low carb recipe book today as I am out of ideas. MaddieB1

Hey Maddie!

We haven't gone walking yet. Tomorrow will be our first outing. Get busy posting, girlie!

As far as recipes, the recipe section of this forum is fabulous for ideas as is this site: low carb recipe site

We went to the Stars Center in Euless to watch the game. It was a fabulous game! My hubby tried that new low carb beer (Michelob Ultra) while we were there and said he thought he could live with it.

I was almost overcome by the smell of the free popcorn, but got over it once I found the snack bar and got some coffee.
