I had never heard of a BodyBlade, so I googled it. Looks pretty interesting and sort of ninja-ish! Until they start flapping it, that is!

I wonder if is most effective as a distraction while you are exercising? As in, you are so concerned about getting it to flap right that you forget you are doing sit-ups?

I googled a little more to see if it's a scam...but it seems there are both negative and positive reviews, although I always wonder if the positive reviews could be plants. It seems fairly expensive for what it seems to be able to do.

Now that I know what it is, I'll keep my ears open and let ya know if I hear anything in real life.

Hi, Lisa. It must be discouraging to be limited in your training.

I remember when Body Blade was the hot new fitness "toy" but I've never owned one. I watched a Body Blade video (found it via Google). Most of the demonstrations I viewed seemed to add Bodyblade resistance to other, more conventional, strength training exercises: crunches, lunges, skate moves. In that case, it wouldn't be much of an improvement for you (without knowing the exact limitation of your injury).

Yoga, Pilates, even Tai Chi (all adapted to your capabilities) can produce strength and flexibility. If you can't go to class, try a video. I've enjoyed videos from collagevideo.com for many years. Good descriptions and reviews there, and excellent service.

Good luck.

I do yoga and pilates at home 3-5 times a week. Plus swim, walk Ollie both outside and on the treadmill. Also do light weights at home 2-3 times a week.

I guess I was just looking for something new and interesting. I particularly liked what (I thought) it could do for arms and back.

Maybe I'll see if I can find a used one somewhere.

Also thinking about getting some Zumba DVDs (so I can shake and shimmy my BGB (black girl booty ) around the house. I'll make sure I close the curtains first )
