Default Things you should know in the beginning.

While a lot of this might be a YMMV thing but I thought I would share a few things that I remember from my past LC experience and that have proven to be true this time.

1. Cheaper meats tend to be fattier meats. I love the cheaper fattier cuts.
2. Ask yourself if you are actually in the need of food (are you hungry)before you eat. It is too easy to eat by habit.
3. FIND A THRIFT STORE. In 5 months I have gone from 4x down to 2x. From a 60 inch sports coat to 54. From a 56 waist to 48 (Im close to 46) thats a lot of clothes to replace.
4. WATER WATER WATER
5. take pictures. I hated being in pics when I was at the top of my weight. But now I wish I had some as a reminder. I have a couple but they are not "good" for comparisons.
6. keep at least one "big" outfit. I love putting on my huge clothes and remininding myself how far I have come.

oh yeah WATER

All good tips, StPete.

There's a lot to learn, collectively and individually. Stick around!

Best wishes.

P. S. Hey, phoneme. You better now? Want to explain being tired? Maybe start your own new thread, and see what folks have to say.

Felling tired/weak is normal in the beginning. Be sure to get enough fat, water and salt. Bacon is GOOD on this plan

This is one I wish I had done! I had one pair of pants I wore all the time at my top weight, as they were comfy and I liked the style - not that I looked good in them at close to 400 pounds, .

As my weight dropped I could not get rid of them fast enough! But now, when I feel discouraged, I wish I had them to try on, to show how far I have come.

For me, having a good scale right from the start was important, and still is 10 years down the road.
