Health food stores carry WOW drops breath freshener. POWERFULLY effective. I recommend carrying them with you at all times. These will not "mask" the smell like perfume over b.o., these will DESTROY the smell. Be careful, one drop will do!
Also, When was your last colon cleanse? I'm in deep ketosis, but honestly, my husband, my 9 year old and I can not smell anything foul on my breath. I very proactively keep my colon as clean as possible. Psyllium can be one's best friend!

ElleH, I asked, because for some reason I was imagining that past induction, one wouldn't still be in ketosis -- I suppose because so many people find themselves kicked out of ketosis -- sometimes w/ just slight variations in their diets, that once you started adding in more carbs you wouldn't be. (And also, because I'm not sure I'm in ketosis, even though I can't figure out why -- so it seems like a fleeting thing.)

If you experience "ketone breath", it will only happen when you are metabolically utilizing ketone bodies. As such, it should only happen when you are in ketosis. However, not everyone who is in ketosis will experience ketone breath.

As far as other people detecting your ketone breath, the simple answer is "it depends". A certain percentage of the population cannot smell ketones. For those who can, it will range from a juicy fruit gum smell to "dead animal stink" as alluded to earlier.

Ketone breath has nothing to do with what type of meat you eat.

My breath has been rotten for the past couple of weeks. I think sugarless gum is ok, I chew it whenever I am able. I also notice that drinking more water helps. I have notice a smell to my urine as well, but it's not too strong. Once again, the water helps
