I am over 50, super-morbidly obese, and highly insulin resistant (pre-Diabetic).
IF (16-8 regimen) is the only thing that has allowed me to continue eating low-carb without binging, while still cutting calories enough to lose weight. I'm only in my second month of regular IF, but usually by this time I'm way off the wagon and happily ensconced in my regular digs in binge-town.
It is my hope that as I continue with this regimen I will see my fasting blood sugars lower, but I figure that will be one of the last markers to improve in my lifetime-of-busted metabolism.
