Thank you so much for your quick answers petra and Lisa, I bought PPLP, from what you all are saying I would definitely be a purist, I am really excited to get the book and read more into it,

My stats are that I'm about 85# and 5'3'', I am very lean, pretty much all muscle and very little fat (my A cup don't lie ) and as I said very active.

Based on other things I have read I am guessing my min would most likely be around 80grams/day, does that seem about right.

And then with fat, do you just fill in with enough fat for satiety after you have determined your protein and carb level

on a side note, I am also in med school, which is another reason I am so interested in the Drs. Eades, they represent the type of Doctor I would one day like to become, open to new research, listening to patients, actually understanding the body and not just the propaganda...but i digress

According to the table in PPLP, you should be able to get away with 60 grams of protein if I am reading it correctly. It says in fine print at the bottom "women under 100 lbs use 20 grams/meal" so that would be you. Because you are very active, I would definately go above that.

I'm a physician. If you are comfortable telling us, where are you in med school? What year? I have mixed feelings about the Eades as physicians but that would be a very long discussion.

I think I just found out why. You don't get pm priviledges until you have made 25 posts here. I won't be reading your message for a few days.

That is too funny, that is ok, now you will just wait in anticipation,

Thanks for all of your help, now I'm just going to have to keep asking you questions to get your posting # up

lkpetro- do you really weigh 0 pounds?

I can't beleive I'm down to 166. I was stalled at 172/171 for months, then last week I was down to 167.5 but figured I was just dehydrated from being sick. But today I weighed myself and I'm even lighter than I was last week!

I should have figured the scale was about to move when I "outshrunk" my bras. Oh, and the way my underwear kept falling to my hips when I was walking last week should have been another indication.

I bought new underwear, but what can I do with the old ones? I can't really donate them anywhere, can I?

Fantastic loss, Ruth! You are kicking butt and taking names now - good for you!! As for the underwear, I think Petra's suggestion of dusting is about the best option other than tossing. I've been known to donate bras, but undies are different.

Petra, I suspect if you subscribed to this forum (paid) you'd probably get immediate PM privileget, but I can't say for sure. For now why now start a journal for yourself and then people can stop by and chat about more personal stuff there? Of course if it's really personal then PM is the way to go or e-mailing (you indicate IM handles and web sites in your contact info on your profile page). Oh wait, you're almost to the number of posts needed anyhow! LOL

Laura, Petra already told you that 60grams is your PP minimum and I agree, considering how active you are I'd definitely hit that and more each day to help maintain what sounds like such a strong and sculpted body.

Yes, that's perfect! You'll hear some of us discuss a "high fat" approach, but that's a personal preference for...just as you said...satiety. Your approach sounds just right for you!

Well I certainly hope I could eat more than 60 grams of protein per day, I think I would fall off the truck from starvation if my protein was that low, I currently eat around the 80-90 mark. I am so active and lose weight so easily I tend to fatigue very easily if I go much below 75. I hope this isn't a problem

Thank you all so much for your help, I'm sure I'll be asking more questions

No problem at all. PP talks about *minimum* protein requirements. You are fine eating more.

Good Morning All!

I am new to PP....have been doing LC/Atkins on and off for 5 yrs now...ouch.....

I am hoping PP will be easier for me, as I cannot stomach all the fat on Atkins, and the lack of fruit.

I am hypothyroid/borderline diabetic and celiac, my DS and DH both have to be dairy free too....so our kitchen is a bit crazy here too......

I hope you all have a great day!

You mean people pay for this forum? What would be the benefit of that?
