Default Longtime Atkins Ladies w/PCOS or Insul. Issues Question??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a thought I'm throwing out here>>>>

I've been Atkinsing for years now and have lost 75 pounds. While I've never been diagnosed with PCOS or anything it has regulated my TOM. I was irregular for 25 years before this. As it turns out, I've developed a huge uterine fibroid which I'll be having a hysterectomy (yikes) within the next few weeks for. I'm only 39! However, not planning on any more kids. Uterine fibroids are hormonally related - I was wondering if any of you other ladies have developed the same after low carbing for a while. Atkins has definitely regulated my hormones which in turn I believe is feeding this fibroid. Any thoughts? Thanks........

PS: I'm choosing the hysterectomy route because of the fact my mother had uterine cancer. My period are heavy, gushing, cramping to the point where I'm afraid to leave the house. I'm leaving my ovaries which will not throw me into menopause.
