Default Birthday Cake

Feeling proud of myself, it's my daughter's 16th birthday today and I haven't had a piece of cake yet though not out of the danger zone as there's still some left!!!

Try this:
100g ground almonds
two eggs
splash of cream
tablespoon of splenda
one or two teaspoons pure cocoa powder

mix together
put in plastic sandwich container (or whatever)
nuke for 4 mins

Instant lowcarb chocolate cake.

(filling - mix butter with sweetener and cocoa powder, cut cake in half and spread inside)

If you can burn this you really are beyond hope!

This sound so yummy I might even give it a try but nothing in the kitchen is 'fool proof' where I'm concerned!!!

Thanks

Hi Whisky

My daughter is 17 today, she has been doing Atkins with me but has decided on a long weekend birthday break and temptation is all around me. Luckily Hubby and I are off to Edinburgh for the weekend and we will eat in Little Chef on the way which should be safe enough.

Where in the North of Scotland are you we often holiday around Sutherland we'd love to live there.

Happy birthday to your daughter!

Hi Uskhi

Congrats to urs 2 (can't be that old cause that's the dreaded text speak), is it me or do you feel just that wee bit older today, is your daughter the oldest/youngest? Mine is the oldest, I have a son who 12 so I'm still being bombarded with 'pop songs' although I'm trying to convert everyone to radio 2!!

I live in whisky country, Elgin, although I come from Dundee originally I have no intention of moving back, I like life here.

How is your diet going, did you move into owl after your 2 week induction? Because I've a lot to lose I've decided to stay on it for a wee while to see how easy (or not) it is for the weight to shift.

Enjoy your weekend in the capital, its a long way to go for a weekend. If you can't be good be careful.

Lorraine

Hi again Lorraine

I was going to visit your journal to reply but you don't have one yet. I looked at your profile and it seems we have plenty in common, I used to do counted cross stitch and I'm an accounts clerk, we have similar amounts to loose too although my aim of 140 will still be too high for my 5ft 1in.

I've moved to owl so that I can have more veggies but not far above the 20 carbs although I seem to be sticking at the moment so may be I will go back to induction for a week to get me loosing again.

The trip to Edinburgh is especially to see Kris Kristofferson my idol in concert hence the long trip just for a weekend, it'll be worth it!

Yes I do feel old today but not as old as I'll feel in August when my first born (son) turns 21. I was a young mum!

Visit my journal next week and I'll tell you how the weekend went.

I made some yesterday too, great recipe Robert

I forgot to put the cream in (d'oh!) and I didn't slice in half and put stuff in the middle, I made a topping from cocoa, butter, splenda and cream and smudged that on, but think it'd be better in the middle, so next bit I have I will cut in half and rearrange it so the top is in the middle

I made it myself today. It's better if you put about 30g of melted butter in the mix. If it turns out too dry you just call it a biscuit and eat it anyway!

A bit of extra cream countermanded the effects of the dryness anyway :-)
