Default Second Time Around

Hi. I am starting a low-carb diet for the second time in my life. Three years ago, I lost fifty-six pounds that way, but after a divorce and major life upheaval, I have gained back twenty pounds. I feel major fatligue pretty much all the time, whereas I felt great and was bursting with energy eating the lc way. So I am back on the wagon and looking forward to sharing my journey with some new 'friends'!

I'm sorry to hear about you having a rough spot going through the divorce. I am glad that you have made a decision to create a happier and healthier you!! You've found a great forum here to help you do just that.

Are you following a specific plan?

Hi there! I'm a third time around, for various reasons! I think we have the same stats and are about the same size, too.

I never went all the way to my goal, the other 2 times I only went to 140 and just sort of stopped. I seem to get depressed at the end of summer and lose motivation, then by Feb I have to start over! This time I joined the forum, started a journal and am really so much more committed. It makes all the difference!

Good luck to you!

I used to follow Protein Power, and I did very well on it. I am going to follow that plan again allowing myself no more than 30 grams of carbs per day. (I don't count fiber grams.)

And thanks for the welcome!

Hi, FtballMom! I also made it to 140, give or take a couple of pounds of fluctuation. I would like to lose 20 more than that. I am only 5'1", but I lean toward a large-type frame.

You sound a lot like me! I did terrible during the winter. Here it is summer, and I am the only one walking around in 80 degree weather with a jacket-type blue-jean shirt on every day. I'm so ashamed of my 'rolls' that I would rather burn up than let them hang loose for everyone to see!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I think I'm going to like it here!

Welcome! I have found that I really have to look at it as a permanent lifestyle, not a diet. It helps to plan plan plan everything. I'm glad you are here!
