Unhappy Frustrated and thinking of switching

For the last 3 weeks, I've been losing and regaining the same 1.5 pounds, and I can't figure out why. I've given up diet soda and the splenda I used to put in my coffee. I don't think my RM is out of control, my appetite is way less than it used to be and I'm not having the between meal hunger that I was. I don't think it's too much cheese. I can't figure out what else it could be.

I'm thinking of switching to Atkins, but will miss being able to have a RM. I also have the Sugarbusters and Protein Power books, so those are options.

I don't have that much more to lose, and am frustrated.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yes, I am working on the having fun part. It's Mardi Gras time here, so lots of fun forthcoming. Unfortunately, no beer for me, though!

Hi Hobbitgirl, I hope you find a plan that works for you!! Are you following CAD or CALP now? I wonder if you're following CAD now and you try to follow CALP for a bit instead (the updated crav reducing veg, the salad plus balanced RM, etc.) that might be a good jumpstart for you? Just an idea! :-)

hi-
I really can't comment as I don't know what you are eating. If you want to post your daily food that might help. You might also want to calculate your daily carbs to see what you are really eating to compare to what you would do on Atkins or PP.

Thanks for the input!

I've been doing CALP and was steadily losing 1-2 pounds a week.

Breakfast - eggs of some kind, such as a veggie omelet or quiche, or just boiled, coffee with 1 tbsp milk
Lunch - salad and protein - such as chicken, tuna, deli sliced turkey
Dinner - very varied, salad, protein, veggie, carb. Example - salad, grilled cube steak and mushrooms, baked sweet potato, green beans. I've been totally avoiding sugar and white flour, and don't think I've been overdoing the carbs.

I haven't been counting carbs, maybe I will try that. My portion sizes have reduced with my reduced appetite. Some days I only eat two meals.

It looks good to me -
this is a slow and steady plan. Swartszbein says to listen to your body and let it tell you how you are doing.

If you want to count carbs you might want to read Dr Eric Westman's version of LC, in the latest Atkins book or in teh back of Gary Taubes newest book.

good luck- and this is a wol so don't get discouraged.

Probably just a losing plateau while your body adjusts to the weight loss. It's Very common with low carb eating. People lose in rushes and go a while without weight loss but the clothes feel looser and losing inches... I tend to lose this way..more now that I'm older.
