Default What do Turtles do to keep up motivation?

I know from past experience that I am a Yo-Yo Turtle, meaning that my weight goes up and down and yet very slowly at that! Sometimes it's very hard to keep up the motivation when you aren't seeing any results for your efforts. What does everyone here do to keep up the motivation to continue on?

Mostly I remember where I was, remember how I felt and know that I don't wanna go back there!

I have been up and down the same 2# since last summer so I really do understand how you feel!!!!

I find motivation in what I am able to do now that I didn't use to be able to - like for instance over the weekend I did a half marathon walk in the International Walking Festival. The guy I was walking with, and eventually left behind, called me "awesome" because he said I made it look easy. That kind of thing is very motivating to hear!!!!! Before getting serious about taking car of my health, I never would have been able to do something like that.

Another thing that really keeps me going is being able to wear clothes that never would have fit before. Low rise jeans, tank tops, slim fitting dresses etc. instead of loose shirts and formless clothes.

Good luck, Julie

LOL I cry and b*tch about it a lot!! lol
Seriously, I just remember how much I don't want to go back to the old me.
I am currently losing less than 2lb a month which as you can imagine is getting to me slowly, but I am keeping on going, it's just SO not worth giving up!

My weight loss has been slow (less than 2lbs a month) for close to a year. Yet I still get compliments about how I am changing, so I think my time at the gym is continuing to reap rewards. I do get frustrated, but as everyone has said, I don't want to regain any weight, so I keep trying.
