Default Why can't I find oligoglucose, inulin or Erythritol products around?

I was on a low carb diet about 10 years ago and saw great results. Back then if I wanted my occasional chocolate or ice cream fix I would buy products loaded with Maltitol. I still saw results but they definitely slowed. I now know why and see that malitol wasn't exactly a godsend. I have been reading a lot about oligoglucose, inulin and Erythritol and they sound to me like a sort of holy grail of the low carb lifestyle. I would like to know if these ingredients are truly remarkable and why I am still seeing so many "sugar free" or "low carb" products loaded with maltitol and not the other ingredients? Also, can some people recommend finished products with oligoglucose, inulin or Erythritol in them besides chocperfection bars? Chocoperfection bars are great.

The rule of thumb is:
If it tastes sweet, don't eat it.
Your body thinks it's sugar if it tastes like sugar

You can get those products from netrition.com, but I agree with moarbacon...use sparingly if at all.

Artificial sweeteners mess with my blood sugar just as much as the 'real' ones, so I only use stevia and very little at that.

Stevia is really the only sweetener that won't mess up your diet.
