Default chinese stir fried lettuce with garlic and ginger

ive been working in a chinese resturant for the past 2 years now . and one thing i would like to warn all you of lc dieters is , avoid them at all cost . if you want to eat asian , cook it yourself . the reason im saying this is cos most of the food preparations contain high level of sugars . even before the meat is cooked its marinated with high levels of starches { usually flours and corn starches} and high level of sugars { usually raw cane sugar } sometimes up to 1 cup per large bowl of marinated meats . but apart from that chinses cooking has some nice vegatable stir fry's which one can prepare without using sugar or starches . here is one of them

ingredients

around 10 medium sized romaine type lettuce leafs
1tsp finely chopped ginger
2tsp finely chopped garlic
1tbls sesame seed oil

ok big secret of asian cooking one needs high heat , so if you are really into asian cooking go buy yourself one of those speacial wok burners { they are quite cheap . for 70$ you can get a really good one which can go up to 50,000 btu , }

ok now for the recipe .

wash and clean the lettuce leafs and pat dry with a kitchen towel .
heat wok and then add oil { best method is to heat wok first on high heat , then with a ladle put a subtantial ammount of oil in the wok , swirl it around and pour excess oil in a seperate pan , all you need is a thin layer of oil . be carfull when using this method sometimes a flame can result , if so happens please dont panic , just lower the heat and cover the wok with a lid .

after you have added the oil . add the ginger and garlic and fry for about 10 secs , then add the lettuce leaves and stir fry for another minute or until the lettuce starts looking like cooked spinniach . drizzle the sesame seed oil , toss for another 5 secs . and serve immediatly .

there you go a nice side dish with your meal which takes only about 2 mins to cook { plus 5 mins prep time } average net carbs per serving 3-4 grams

serving size approx . small cerial bowl or 2 cups
