Hello fellow low-carbers,
I thought it would be a great idea to begin and complete this challenge with my/our savior, Jesus Christ, in mind and in spirit. As low-carbers and as Christians we are asked to change and renew our lifestyle, to begin all things new again, and to let go or take stock of things that affect our current lifestyle. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting.
This challenge is open to all Christian denominations - all are welcomed.
Since Wednesday, February 21, 2007 is the first day of lent you can feel free to wait until then to add your name/weight, or you can check in today (I've started the list below) and modify it on Wednesday if necessary.
The rules are:
Weigh in on Wednesdays, except for the last weigh in will be on Monday, following the Easter/Resurrection Sunday.
Post 3 of your goals in honor of the Trinity.
All are welcome to share and have fun with this challenge, share spiritual, angelic experiences, positive experiences, favorite bible passages, biblical stories, favorite quotes, and/or anything relating to the Lord that magnifies His name, uplifts Him, and uplifts our spirits during this time of Lent and during our challenge to uplift one another.
Please refrain from denouncing anyone else’s denomination belief(s) and stick with the task at hand which is to magnify the Lord and to complete this challenge with the Lord as our guide.
Retreating Into the Wilderness with Jesus
It is most appropriate on Ash Wednesday - February 21, 2007, when we begin a period of sober reflection, self-examination, and spiritual redirection.
Lent is a season of soul-searching and repentance. It is a season for reflection and taking stock.
In the Western Christian calendar, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. It occurs forty-six days before Easter, but Lent is nevertheless considered forty days long, because Sundays in this period are not counted as days of penance.
As you know, Jesus retreated into the wilderness and fasted for forty days to prepare for his ministry. It was for Him a time of contemplation, reflection, and preparation. By observing Lent, most Christians join Jesus on His retreat;
the individual Christian imitates Jesus’ withdrawal into the wilderness for forty days.

My goals:
1. To become new again by renewing my temple and spiritual self.
2. To make new friends that love the Lord like I do.
3. To be a better servant to the Lord.
