This week was part 2 of driving back up to CT w/cat

Mon Jun 25 ATL - really only a short walk - 10 min around the block from where I parked going to favorite breakfast place...
Hollyhocks!!! Love the old-fashioned flowers...

Look how the sun lights up my ruffles!!!

From Peter Pan: Listen to Tiger Lily... When on warpath: SHHHHHHHH!

And Tiger Lily's cousins, the Daylilies...

Pink roses thinking outside the fence...

They are so beautiful...

Trumpet vine gossips...

Tue Jun 26 - Here is kitty's pic from our Motel 6 - he liked being up high behind the TV...

Wed Jun 27 - 2 pics I took at rest stops
Bright red gladiolus...

Pretty flowers and trellis...

Fri Jun 29 - 20 min walk around neighborhood (petsitting CT)
First CT pic - delicate and pink prettiness..

Bleeding hearts!

I have never seen the red striped salvia before...

Orange daylily showing me the ropes around the garden...

She's a chatterbox... sometimes these flowers look like they are talking...

I think this is a calla lily - love the sultry color...

These feminine roses were out by the front picket fence...

This red nasturtium has it's own patio cabana tent...

Cheerful lilies.... love the colors...

From the middle of the hill on the road you can look down into town and see this church...

Someone had these decorative urns on the posts at the end of their driveway...

I like to see these big old houses being rennovated and put back in use...

That was it! Need to get back in the saddle, here...
total: 20 min

Tue Jul 3 - 45 walk around the neighborhood (CT)
A bright, bright rose out front...

My favorite color geraniums with stones and sea glass in it's pot...

The roses are flirting with the neighbor's plants across the street...

Quaint little New England shop...

Here is a view of the Historic grounds and cemetery in Norwalk...

This is the town hall...

There are paths around the different garden spots - kitchen, cutting, etc...

The path leads to the bank where you can look down into the waterway...

First view of the harbor!

Look! Look at the water, the corepsis say...

I don't know what these are, but they're really pretty...

Now these headstones are OLD....

Many different stone styles and materials in this cemetery...

Eliphalet - now there's a name... "October ye 14th 1753"....wow...

I do not know what material this stone is - you can barely see the carving on it...

Huge church...

This stone wall is down a drive going towards the bank/water - I didn't follow it...

Another very large church...can't remember if it's the same one, different side - I don't think so...

I like the detail on this chimney - there is a window in it!!?? Non-working chimney then? Window installed later?...

Thu Jul 5 - sticking this pic in... pale blue hydrangea...

Sat Jul 7 - some yard flower pix...
Colorful nasturtiums!

Still fascinated by the striped salvia...

Gorgeous pink lilies...

Purple flowers...

A chorus of daylilies...

A yellow daylily with the veggie garden in the background and the sprinkler...

Heavenly Oakleaf Hydrangea...

Dang - just not getting enough exercise, but busy...

total: 45 min

Mon Jul 9 - 1 hour walk around neighborhood - CT
It had just rained - raindrops on the hostas...

One of the churches nearby...

Walking up the walkway to the church thru the graveyard...

Big old doors on the church...

Stained glass...

Pretty deep rose flowers... nicotania? Not sure what they are...

Side entrance...

Huge place...

Cemetery extends around the other side of the church...

There is a healing labyrinth that I walked ...there are meditation suggestions posted for you as you walk...

A Celtic Cross!

Here is the other church (no cemetery) and the town green...

Closer view of the bandstand...

Their plantings in red, white and blue-ish...

Back to the yard along the street... beautiful rose...

And a very cheery sunflower welcomes me back...

Thu Jul 12 - 1 hr walk trying to find the entire harbor loop trail - poorly marked and didn't find the rest of it...confusing... but I had my own tour going
Pretty pink magnolia looking flower...not sure what it is, prob not a Magnolia

The sign for "Harbor Loop Trail" was here at the Town Hall Cemetery so I started there...

Bunny was out and about early...

Bright orange flowers along the walkway...

Big Victorian with a widow's walk...

These were the cutest bright little bottlebrush like flowers in planters...

The view of the harbor/canal coming into town...

And on the other side of the bridge - the canal continues into town...

A quaint antique shop...this is where the loop trail got squirrely... a few signs for it but very unclear...

I choose a street that followed the canal, but up in town... went thru a railyard - no train coming!

An entire fence full of glorious trumpet vines, so many and so healthy!

The sidewalk ran out so I turned and headed toward this church; a crude statuette atop a post precedes it...

I cannot find who it is - researched statues in Norwalk CT... he looks Roman...?

I believe this is a Catholic church...

The entire front garden is filled with prolific coneflowers...

Decorative doors on the church...

And stained glass windows...

I picked up the canal again in a large parking lot I followed as far as I could, then access ended...

Sun shines on the green by the canal... it was time to go back.

Sat Jul 14 - 25 min on treadmill here at the house, took my 'puter downstairs and watched Sex and the City on Amazon Prime. OH

Sun Jul 15 - 35 min on treadmill watching SATC

total this week: 3 hours

Ha, Meme - I think whoever told me she lived here had info from the past - I guess she used to live in Westport, which is pretty close to here, and I don't know if she still has property in Maine - current internet info says she lives in Katonah, NY which I passed on the way to the airport in White Plains... it is very pretty there. And expensive!

Mon Jul 16 - 40 min on the treadmill watching SATC, OH

Thu Jul 19 - once again, loaded the moving truck in CT, about 3 hours with a heavy refrigerator dolly (it was the only thing they had there - the other dollies were loaned out) - a real chore but it was better than nothing.

Sat Jul 21 - 35 min walk at nearby park OH.
Ahhhh home! I love it here...

These meadows/woods are near and dear to my heart...

Queen Anne's lace and tiny daisies make a sea of white...

Occasional splashes of pink...

I remember a lot more of these black eyed Susan type flowers in these fields 3 yrs ago when I was here...

Beautiful square yellow flowers, they look like butterflies...

Striking dark purple leaves on this tree near a planet-station...

More patches of white along a mowed path...

The thistles accompany the Queen Anne's lace...

The bright flowers are curious...

Coreopsis family? Waving in the wind...

Sun Jul 22 - 25 min treadmill watching SATC

Colorful Coneflowers greet me...

Tall mini-sunflowers wave to me...

Bright thistle plant whispering "Balmoral...."

Birdie was hopping along in the path...

I wonder if she was luring me away from her babies...she hopped ahead of me...

I've taken hundreds of pics trying to capture a barn swallow in flight...

They're so fast...

These dainty flowers showed up blue in prior pics, this time they look pinky purple...

I wonder what's made this Queen Anne's Lace flower turn pink...

These thick Queen Anne's Lace flowers look like they've been crocheted...

Default rest of Aug thru Sept 13

3 weeks at the job from hell, constant running, bending, lifting, twisting, running all day. 5 days a week. Last day was Sept 13. I didn't mind the exercise so much as no breaks, no time for lunch, and the insanity of the schedule you are put thru daily. Stress level was off the charts. Soooo glad that is done.
**I guess I got a walk in with puppy (BIG puppy) I was petsitting on Sept 2 - will put photos in here...probably 30 min.
Very tall pines...

Pines along the driveway...

Aw, this was a big tree... probably blew over...

Twisty turny branches...

Nice back yard and fields on this farm, not a working farm right now...

Little outbuilding, no longer in use...this used to be a sheep farm...

I love the purple and orange flowers - so pretty...

Beautiful dark purple leaved maple in the back yard...

Field to the south...

The old barn...

Interesting cloud formation...

Looking at the edge of the ravine...

Sun Sept 16 - 30 min walk around yard/woods where I am petsitting. I would have gone farther but the path was pretty grown up with poison ivy, had to turn around - didn't have my barn boots with me.

I know it's misery for people with allergies but I love goldenrod...

Field flowers are so pretty...

Golden mystery berries in the hazy sunlight...

This frog blends right in with the foliage...

Big white puffy mushrooms...

Some kind of faux corn plant... the birds must have dropped a seed...

Some happy pears on that little tree!

And good-lookin' peaches...

Wooley bear caterpillar...is he forecasting the winter or telling of the last winter?

Pretty garden patch planting...

Pretty pale pink in that patch...

Curious kitty on the walk with me...

Lots of free-growing plantings in the yard... very cheery...

Total: we'll just say lots...

week of Sept 17 - no countable exercise
I'll stick a heart pic in here: There was a tiny heart on my block of cheese

Mon Sept 24 - light rainy day but went for a walk with my umbrella anyway - new park, walked 15 min, and then went to the park near home; walked another 30 min there, since 15 wasn't enough for me today.

This is a new park (to me, but it's recently opened, I think)

I love the morning glories...

A view of the lake...

Nature has such a great color palate...

View of another lake...

Pretty in pink!

Grape vines climb up and spill out of these pines...

Lovely view of the lake peeking thru the trees...

Other side of the tree...

Little yellow mushrooms under the pine trees...

Another view of the water...

Bright little heal-alls...

Cornflower blue chickory flowers...

Milkweed - breakfast of champion Monarchs...

A spray of purple flowers against the water...

Unusual little flower...

Peeking out over the yellow flower...

Over at the other park - this big tree top broke off... BIG tree...

More of the cheeriest yellow and hot pink...

Tall sunflowers waving in the wind in a field of flowers...

rest of the week... started a new job at a non-profit well known Arboretum, and it's a lot of being outside, some of it very physical (depending on which of the 3 jobs you are doing that day) and at least 20 min of walking daily - nothing is close together including the parking lot. So while I am not formally exercising, I am getting some 5 days a week. And I am tired out - lots of training. Good perks here, we get the run of the 3600 acres on our off time , I just haven't had any time to enjoy it yet. Love the place, not crazy about the job/s, but must look at the big picture for the time being.

total: another "lots" week

Back to 5 days a week in addition to the job that includes a lot of physical activity. I need some improvement in key areas so back to the 90 day good habit thread.

Fri Oct 12 - 20 min of A Morning Cup of Yoga

Sun Oct 14 - 30 min walk in a favorite park

Autumn is quite late...maple leaves only starting to color...

Walkway thru a wet area leading into the park/trails...

The lake was a perfect mirror of the sky with some ducks or geese swimming on it...

A soon to be setting sun...

Another shot of the lake...

Love those negative ions...

The sky is full of feathers today...

The sinking sun turns the trees across the lake orange and yellow...

Sun disappearing into the woods saying farewell for another day...

Now there is glorious fall color...

Silhouette of dried field plants against the fast coming dusk...

It just depends on which direction you are facing as to what the light looks like... these were all taken within 10 min of each other...

A last look at the sunset...

started on Friday so that's it for this week. Total: 50 min
