Hi guys. I live in Issaquah. I would like to find grass-fed beef. I have only seen Bison in the local stores. Has anyone found it and tried it? Maybe I will check Trader Joes. I also wish they would make sugar-free frapuccinos and granitas at Starbucks, Molbaks and other places!

I buy grass fed ground beef and new york steaks at Trader Joes (the one in Burien). It's the only beef I have in the house now. We like the taste of the steaks and use the hamburger mainly in casseroles, meatloaf, etc. I'm sure it's just as good.
What I've been doing at Starbucks is carrying stevia in my purse and having them put a little bit in the cup, and then sprinkle cinnamon on top of the foam. I have on order a sugar free spice flavoring that is small enough to put in a purse so I'll be all set by next week I'll ask for the stevia and the spice mix to be put in the cup before adding the espresso. A tall latte with reg. milk is 10 carbs. (There's a site that list all starbuck's drinks' stats.) That's too high for induction, but I'm not that low with the carbs. I feel better at 50 or so carbs. At home I use lo carb milk-Hoods.

I live near Olympia. My favorite place to eat in Oly, other than the two quite decent sushi bars in town is the Fish Tale Brew Pub. It's currently closed down for several weeks for construction/expansion, supposed to reopen in late Feb/early March last I heard.

I know, a brew pub doesn't exactly sound LC but they have very good food - organic beef and ostrich burgers and huge salads of organic wild greens with smoked salmon, chicken or greek style as well as a couple of acceptable appetizers. I find the food to be a bit excessively lean but it's vastly better than most of the alternatives.

Organically, locally grown free range beef.
Ted and Shawn's Meat Market in Renton
They are FABulous and have lots of great selections. They do all of their own cutting, grinding, in house smoking. Super nice guys. They will take care of you. They also have the smart chicken brand.
Shawn & Ted's Quality Meat Mkt
Address: 5325 NE 4th St, Renton, WA 98059
Phone: (425) 226-2422
There's also a fruit market there too.

It is really between Issaquah and Renton.

Hi guys, I live just across the US/Canada border in Abbotsford. I'd love to take a trip soon to the Bellingham area to pick up some inexpensive LC products. Does anyone have any recommendations of where to go? Thanks in advance!

I know there are good places - Cash and Carry - but there is a girl that talks about going to Bellingham all the time - her nickname is Nikkel - and her journal is at http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...ighlight=Nikkel

I'm sure she wouldn't mind at all if you stopped by there and asked some questions. She's really super nice Tell her I sent ya!!

Default Hi from Port Angeles

Anyone else from around here? I moved here last August. This is the only way I lose weight. I gained about 15 pounds over winter (sitting on my butt and looking at the rain poncho I bought so I could walk in the rain...evidently you have to put the thing on and go walk for it to work...who knew???? )
I was retired but am starting a new job on Monday. Actually looking forward to it! Also looking forward to hearing from anyone around here, male or female.

Libby

Yeah, pretty quiet in here.

I love Fred Meyer. That's where we do most of our shopping, although we buy meat at Costco mostly.

I hope Freddy's is a pleasant place to work.

Hey guys, just wanted to say hello! I'm from Bellevue area. I have been shopping at QFC for meat and basics and Whole Foods for lo-carb balance bars and such. I have switched from soda to sparkling water mixed with a tiny bit of diet "ocean spray" juice and have found that to be a refreshing alternative to the gallons of soda I used to drink a day. Other than that I have just been trying to stick with whole foods...and that has been working pretty well for me. I was wondering if any of you know of any good lo-carb options I could get in a thai food restaurant? My boyfriend really wants to go but I don't want to if there is nothing for me to eat! Any advice would be appreciated :-)!
