Question Simple fat fast

Hi all!

Anybody know about a simple fat fast? Was reading about some on some of the threads but living in Italy I don't find most of the products you mention. The only cream cheese we got is Philadelphia, our fattest cream has 4 or 5 carbs per 100g and no macadamia nuts...

Any ideas? I'd like something simple like with cream and nuts, turkey and mayo etc...

Thanks in advance..

Liv

Liv, the new Atkins book (Dec 2001) devotes 4 whole pages to the fat fast - you might want to get yourself a copy if you are following this plan. If it is not available where you live, this web site - www.half.com - usually has copies for pennies on the dollar.

There are two fat fast threads on the first page of the Tips and Stalls forum. http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=14
Post #2 On this one has the Atkins advice mentioned above: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=449763 you can have chicken, turkey or eggs with mayo or butter. Or pate if nice and fatty, would think Italy has good ones.

My tip to add would be not to force yourself to eat it all, it can quickly become a bit too much. As with standard LC diets, only Eat if hungry.

I find fried pork fat to be pretty close. Nuts or cream have too many carbs. Uncured bacon is another option, as it's only supposed to be for a few days duration to kick off ketosis in difficult cases. The fast I prefer now is PSMF. Again not a long-term plan for health reasons. The "fat fast" is meant for people who have a lot to lose?

when I do fat fast I like

deviled eggs with lots of mayo
bacon
cream cheese rolled in balls and dipped in sf jello powder
eggs fried in bacon grease
pepperoni or ham with cream cheese layered on it
almond butter on celery
fat bombs
avocado
pork rinds in sour cream
tuna salad
peanut butter pudding

just a few things I have tried before..i seem to have just as much luck doing few days of straight meat/eggs

Good luck
